
Getty Center turned 25 in 2022, and we were engaged to create a mark for the milestone anniversary to generate renewed attention to Getty’s impact in Los Angeles and around the world and celebrate 25 years of giving and giving thanks. The desire was to showcase Getty as a place where the local community and the world comes together through a summer-long celebration of digital and physical events and public programming.
Working with the existing Getty logo that we previously designed, we created a special anniversary mark that captured Getty’s convening power—openly and generously bringing together people, ideas, collections and voices around our common interests in art and culture. The mark amplifies Getty’s outward impact through a ripple effect of line, color and interwoven letterforms. Crafting a Getty25 typeface allowed us to personalize the system for each LA community, and the modular graphic system flexed seamlessly across all media formats.
